Prof. Dr. Maria Bălășoiu heads the Discipline of Microbiology at UMF Craiova, coordinating the team’s teaching, research and diagnostic activity.
Her research focuses on antimicrobial resistance (including ESBL enzymes), healthcare-associated infections and the epidemiology of multidrug-resistant hospital strains.
